Tendencias SS 2018

A pesar de que el tiempo parece indicarnos todo lo contrario, la primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina, y con ella llega el momento de refrescar nuestro armario, guardar todos esos jerséis que nos tienen más que aburridas y, quién sabe, hacernos con alguna que otra prenda de nueva colección ;)

Even though the weather seem to suggest the opposite, spring is coming and we are starting to make our closet ready for the new season: take out those boring jumpsuits and maybe buy some new season's clothes ;)

Hoy quiero traeros algunas de las tendencias que más se están viendo en tienda para la próxima temporada, algunas morirán de éxito antes de que esta acabe y otras irán surgiendo con el tiempo así que no descarto hacer alguna actualización más adelante. ¡Allá vamos!

Today I'll bring you some of the next season's trends, some of theme could die form its success before this had finished and others will being emerging over time so I don't exclude the possibility of making an update in a future. Here we go!

Colores: lavanda y amarillo

Colours: lavender and yellow

Pantone ya nos anunciaba que el color del año sería el ultraviolet y las tiendas han tomado buena nota de ello con prendas en este tipo de tonos, sobre todo rebajadas a colores pastel como lila y lavanda. Si queréis añadirle un poco de vida os sugiero una combinación un tanto explosiva pero que puede funcionar muy bien: lavanda + rojo.

Pantone already announce us that this year's colour would be "ultraviolet", and shops have taken note with all kind of clothing in this kind of tones, specially in pastel shades like lilac and lavender. If you want to spice it up you could try to combine it with red, it's quite risky but could work well.

     

                 

                                  

Frente a la suavidad del lavanda, la potencia del amarillo (aunque también lo encontramos en tonos pastel). Personalmente es un color que me encanta, aunque no sea el que más me favorezca, pero me parece muy combinable. Ya sea en prendas o en accesorios da siempre un toque de luz muy especial a los outfits.

Facing lavender's softness, yellow's power makes its appearance (although we can find it also in pastel shades). Personally, I really love this colour, even though it's not the colour that suits me the most, but it's so easy to combine. Either in clothing or in accessories it will always give a special light to your outfits. 

                      

                 

Prenda exterior: chubasqueros y trench

Outwear: rain coats and trench 

Dos prendas que vienen pisando fuerte esta temporada. Encontramos chubasqueros de todo tipo: estampados, transparentes, de color... A mi personalmente me vuelve loca el transparente, creo que puede dar mucho juego con las prendas que lleves por debajo, además de ser súper versátil.

Two garment that are standing strong this season. We could find all kind of rain coats: printed, transparent, with plain colours... Personally, I'm in love with the transparent one, I think that could be multipurpose and so versatile. 

   

          

Respecto al trench, básico temporada tras temporada, podemos encontrarlo reinventado con cortes oversize y estampados a cuadros o en su versión más clásica. Una prenda fundamental como fondo de armario.

Regarding the trench, basic season after season, we could find it reinvented with an oversize style and check print or in its classical version. An essential clothing to our wardrobe must-have. 

             


               


Total look: trajes y punto

Total look: suits and knitting

Una de las tendencias más fuertes de esta temporada: los trajes de chaqueta. En tonos pastel que suavizan un tanto el carácter marcadamente masculino de esta prenda y con un corte más bien oversize.

One of the most powerful trends this season: two-piece suits. In pastel shades that soften the masculine character of this clothing and with an oversize style. 

                  


         


Frente a la seriedad del traje, los total look de punto aportan ese carácter más desenfadado y divertido. En tonos neutros o en colores vibrantes, el punto también es para la primavera.

Facing the suit's seriousness, the knitting total looks have a relaxed and funny character . In neutral tones or vibrant colours, knitting is also for spring. 


             


                  

Estampados: rayas y lunares

Prints: stripes and polka dots

Dos de los estampados que más se están viendo en tienda son las rayas y los lunares. Las rayas reaparecen casi siempre con el calor para darle ese toque navy y veraniego a los looks. En esta temporada, además del clásico azul-blanco o negro-blanco encontramos rayas de colores que le dan un toque más divertido a los looks.

Two of the most viewed prints in stores: stripes and polka dots. Stripes  always reappear in hottest seasons to give a navy touch to your outfits. In this season, apart from blue-white and black-white  we will also see colourful stripes that will add a funny touch to our outfits.


               


           


Respecto a los lunares, ya pisaron fuerte el año pasado en su combinación más básica: blanco y negro. Ahora, aunque siguen siendo protagonistas en estos colores, los podemos encontrar con tonos más vivos y divertidos.

Regarding polka dots, we had actually seen them last summer in its basic combo: black and white. Now, even though this combo is also the main one, we could find another clothing with more vibrant and shiny colours. 


               

               


Estilo: Safari y Athleisure

Style: Safari and Athleisure 

Como traído de África a la gran ciudad, el estilo safari inunda las tiendas en su lado más urbano. Prendas de lino, tonos tierra, estampados étnicos y animal prints, vestidos camiseros, saharianas... todo directo de la sabana al asfalto.

Like brought directly from Africa to the big city, the safari style flood the stores on its more urban side. Linen clothing, earth tones, ethnic and animal prints, shirt-inspired dresses, safari jackets...all this came from the savannah to the asphalt. 

                         


                          

Como contrapunto, se mantiene el estilo deportivo con un toque chic, lo que antes llamábamos sporty-chic y ahora denominamos athleisure. Pantalones con raya lateral y sudaderas se mezclan con otras prendas más sofisticadas en perfecto contraste, por no hablar de las deportivas, aptas para cualquier look y los típicos calcetines con raya en el tobillo que ahora se mezclan con sandalias de tacón o zapatos masculinos.

Like a counterpoint, sporty style is maintained with a chic touch, what we used to call sporty-chic and now we call athleisure. Joggers and sweatshirts are mixed with more sophisticated clothing in a perfect contrast, not to mention sneakers, suitable for any outfit and sporty socks mixed with heels and masculine shoes. 


              

                   

Bolsos: materiales naturales y riñoneras

Bags: natural materials and belt bags

Esta tendencia ya apareció el año pasado pero esta temporada parece que entra con más fuerza. Los bolsos de rafia o tipo cesta, fabricados con materiales naturales como madera o bambú (o una imitación de éstos) inundan tiendas y redes sociales.

This trend comes from last year's season but it seems to came stronger this one. Raffia bags and basket bags, made from natural materials like wood or bamboo (or faux wood and bamboo) flood stores and social media. 

                 


                         


Las riñoneras se mantienen en activo, ya sea en su lado más deportivo o más urbano como las de Gucci y Chloé.

Belt bags are still in business, either in its sporty side or in an urban one, like Chloé and Gucci style. 

                    


                  



Calzado: zapatos blancos y deportivas

Footwear: white shoes and sneakers

Los zapatos y botas blancas invaden el streetstyle y parece que se mantendrán la próxima temporada. Podemos encontrar bluchers, botines, zapatos de tacón bajo...todo vale mientras se respete el tono blanco inmaculado.

White shoes and boots invade the streetstyle and it seems that we will still see them in next season. We could find bluchers, booties, low-heeled shoes...everything is fine while respecting the pure white tone. 


                  


                      


Las deportivas se mantienen en boga pero su estilo se vuelve menos discreto y, si me permitís, un tanto más ortopédico. ¿El culpable? Balenciaga y sus "ugly sneakers". ¿Os sentís preparadas para esta tendencia? Yo todavía no.

Sneakers keep in vogue but its style becomes less discreet and, if I may say, a little bit orthopaedic. The guilty? Balenciaga and its "ugly sneakers". Are you ready for this trend? I'm not yet. 

                            

                     


Accesorios: maxi-pendientes y gafas cat-eye

Accessories: maxi-earrings and cat-eye glasses

Los maxi-pendientes se mantienen e incluso ganan fuerza en esta nueva temporada. Pendientes de colores muy llamativos  que, combinados con prendas más básicas o incluso totalmente contrapuestas como una sudadera, pueden convertir nuestro outfit en un look de diez.

Maxi-earrings seem to gain strength this new season. Colourful and striking earrings that, combined with basic clothes or even opposing clothes like a sweatshirt could made an outstanding outfit.

             


                


Por último, y aunque puede que mueran de éxito antes de que llegue el verano, las gafas cat-eye han encontrado su momento. Las podéis encontrar en todas las tiendas en dos versiones: la clásica de montura negra y una más atrevida con montura roja, aunque van surgiendo nuevos modelos más grandes, ovalados o en carey. No me parecen las gafas más favorecedoras del mundo pero reconozco que yo ya me he hecho con unas de Lefties (puro postureo, ya sabéis ;) ) Sin embargo, si os gustan mucho, os quedan muy bien o queréis usarlas muy frecuentemente, yo optaría por invertir en unas de buena calidad.

Finally, and even they could die of success before summer arrives, cat-eye glasses have found its moment. You can find them in two versions: the classic black one and a daring red one, although new models are appearing with bigger and oval frames or tortoiseshell. They are not the most fetching sunglasses but I have already bought ones in Lefties (just for posing, you know ;) ) However, if you really like this kind of sunglasses, they suit you or you just want to use them often, I suggest to invest in a good-quality ones.
